We meet every Sunday morning, except for the first Sunday of the month, in the Reading Room at the junction of St John’s Road and School Lane.  Sunday School goes on throughout the year, including School holidays.

We start at 9.45am and afterwards we walk down through the woods to the Church for the end of the Communion Service so that the children can receive a blessing – and tell everyone what they’ve learned at Sunday School.

Sunday School is always led by at least two people from a team of experienced volunteers, to ensure that there is adequate supervision for all the children, and to comply with the Child Protection legislation. Peter Sugden is our Child Protection Officer and can be contacted via our contact page.

The teaching material we use is supplied by Scripture Union and combines Bible teaching with lots of practical art and craft work, acting and games.  We are good at adapting the material to suit the ages and abilities of the children who come and we are happy to welcome any children from the age of three upwards.

When we have a large age range we ensure that there is a variety of activities, so that there is something for everyone.

Please come and try us out one Sunday soon.

Sunday school outing 2006

On a beautiful evening last Friday the first social evening arranged for

the Church children age 7yrs and above took place.

Seven children and a few "grown ups" met at a car park on the forest and

we had a lovely walk to a lake. After a couple of games we enjoyed a

delicious picnic. With the remains of the ham sandwich and peanut butter

roll all the children found sticks, added the fore mentioned ingredients

to the end and started to fish. Fortunately no one was successful!!!

However Elliot found a baby frog. All the children enjoyed watching

"Billy" as he hopped in and out of the lake. All was quiet as Peter our

own Pied Piper played his recorder in the fairy glade- it was lovely.

Following a game of hide and seek we left for home after a

really enjoyable evening.

The next event will be on the 14th July. We are now hoping to

arrange a monthly social evening for this group of Church children.
